    My Awesome Trip to Nanjing!
Hi everyone! I'm so excited to tell you all about my amazing trip to the city of Nanjing in China. It was the best vacation I've ever had! Let me start from
My family and I took the high-speed train from Shanghai to Nanjing. The train was super fast and it only took like an hour to get there! I loved looking out the window and watching the pretty Chinese countryside zoom by. As soon as we arrived in Nanjing, I could tell it was a really historic and important city.
The first place we visited was the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall. I have to be honest, some parts were pretty sad and scary when I learned about the terrible things that happened there during World War II. But it's important to remember history so those kinds of awful events never happen again. I felt proud that Nanjing has a memorial to honor the victims.
After that, we went to Nanjing's city wall and I got to walk along the ancient, giant stone wall that goes all the way around the city! It was so cool imagining what it must have been like hundreds of years ago when the city needed giant walls to protect itself. Some parts of the wall were a little crumbly from being so old, but most of it was still in great shape. My little brother pretended he was a guard keeping watch for invaders - so silly!
The next day, we explored the Confucius Temple area. I learned that Confucius was a famous ancient Chinese philosopher that taught people how to be good and moral citizens. The buildings in the temple area were gorgeous with lots of pretty gardens and ponds with koi fish swimming around. I got a kick out of watching the old men playing chess and cards together in the parks.
Then we went shopping on Fuzimiao Street which had tons of fun stores and snack vendors. I bought a really awesome traditional Chinese fan that I can use to cool myself off in the summer heat. And I chowed down on so many delicious skewers - my favorites were the bacon wrapped tofus and the candied strawberries. Yum!
On our last day in Nanjing, we took a boat tour along the Qinhuai River that snaked right through the ce
nter of the city. It was so peaceful gliding along the water, seeing all the willow trees lining the banks and checking out the interesting architecture of the buildings and bridges from different eras of history all blended together. At night, the river banks lit up with beautiful colored lights reflecting in the water - I'd never seen anything like it!
While we were on the boat, we got to sample some traditional Chinese red wine which I thought would taste gross but it was actually really good! And we ate a amazing dinner of famous Nanjing salted duck that I'm seriously still dreaming about to this day. Apparently, the way they make it by salting the duck for a long time is a super old method from ancient times in Nanjing. It was the juiciest, most flavorful duck I've ever had!
I had such an incredible time in Nanjing seeing all the cultural sites, trying the delicious foods, and learning about the rich history. I gave the city two thumbs up! We made so many wonderful family memories that I'll never forget. I'm already bugging my parents about when we can go back because there's still so much left to explore. Nanjing is one of the coolest cities ever!

My Amazing Trip to Nanjing City!
Hi friends! I went on a super cool trip to Nanjing with my family during spring break. Nanjing is a big city with lots of amazing old buildings and parks. We saw the giant city wall and walked on top of it! We also went to a lake and saw these awesome temples. My favorite part was the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall which taught me so much about history. I had the best time ever in Nanjing!
That was just a little preview of my awesome Nanjing adventure. Now let me tell you allll about it!
We took the bullet train from Shanghai to Nanjing. Riding on the fast train was so fun - it felt like we were zooming through the air! The train went over 300 kilometers per hour which is crazy fast. I loved looking out the window and watching the cities and countryside whizz by in a blur of colors and shapes.
After a quick ride, we arrived at the huge Nanjing train station. Nanjing is the capital city of Jiangsu Province and has over 8 million people living there! As we walked outside, I was overwhelmed by how big and crowded and busy everything was compared to my smaller hometown. There were tons of tall buildings, wide roads packed with cars and scooters zipping everywhere, and crowds of people rushing ar
ound. The air even smelled different - kind of hard to describe, but sort of like a mix of exhaust fumes, food cooking, and general busyness if that makes sense.
