In Xanadu did Kubla Khan A stately pleasure-dome decree:
Where Alph,the sacred river,ran,Through caverns measureless to man,Down to a sunless sea.
So twice five miles of fertile ground, With walls and towers were girdled round:
And there were gardens bright with sinuous rills, Where blossomed many an incense-bearing tree;
And here were forests ancient as the hills, Enfolding sunny spots of greenery.
忽必烈汗下旨在上都，
建造了⼀座富丽堂皇的穹顶宫殿：
那⾥有阿尔法圣河，
流经深不可测的岩洞
落⼊太阳照射不到的⼤海。
那⾥有⽅圆⼗⾥的肥沃⼟地
周围城墙环绕，⾼塔林⽴：
那⾥还有明媚绚丽的花园，
蜿蜒曲折的⼩溪，
那⾥花繁树茂，芳⾹四溢；
森林像⼭峦⼀样古⽼，
环抱着阳光灿烂的绿茵。
But oh! that deep romantic chasm which slanted,Down the green hill athwart a cedarn cover!
A savage place! as holy and enchanted,As e'er beneath a waning moon was haunted,By woman wailing for her demon-lover!
And from this chasm, with ceaseless turmoil seething, As if this earth in fast thick pants were breathing,
A mighty fountain momently was forced:
Amid whose swift half-intermitted burst, Huge fragments vaulted like rebounding hail, Or chaffy grain beneath the thresher's flail:
And 'mid these dancing rocks at once and ever
It flung up momently the sacred river. Five miles meandering with a mazy motion
Through wood and dale the sacred river ran, then reached the caverns measureless to man, and sank in tumult to a lifeless ocean:
And 'mid this tumult Kubla heard from far, ancestral voices prophesying war!
但，噢！在那苍杉覆盖的绿⾊⼭坡之下
却斜插着幽深的怪异峡⾕！
⼀⽚荒蛮之地！
好似秘境和被施了神秘的魔法，
常会有⼥⼦在清辉⽇减的⽉下
出没徘徊，
为她的魔⿁情⼈恸哭！
永⽆休⽌地沸腾着躁动骚乱，
仿佛⼤地在急促地喘着粗⽓，
⼀股强⼤的喷泉在不停地喷涌：
在它快速的间歇爆发中，
巨⽯碎⽚不时腾空⽽起，
犹如下坠反弹的冰雹，
⼜如⾕糠在连枷的打⾕机中不停翻滚：
这些岩⽯碎块在⼀次次的的狂舞中，
不断被⾼⾼抛起，迸⼊圣河，
蜿延五⾥如迷宫般般的圣河，
流过森林，⾕地
到达深不可测的岩洞，
喧闹着跌⼊了⽆⽣机的海洋。
在这⽚喧哗之中，
忽必烈汗远远听到，
祖先预⾔战争的声⾳！
The shadow of the dome of pleasure,Floated midway on the waves;
Where was heard the mingled measure,From the fountain and the caves.
It was a miracle of rare device, A sunny pleasure-dome with caves of ice!
A damsel with a dulcimer, In a vision once I saw:
It was an Abyssinian maid, And on her dulcimer she played, Singing of Mount Abora.
Could I revive within me, Her symphony and song.
To such a deep delight 'twould win me, That with music loud and long, I would build that dome in air，穹顶宫殿幽幽的倒影，

如果我能在⼼底唤回，
她那美妙的旋律和歌声。
我定会，
凭借那⾼亢悠扬的乐曲，
我就能在空中建造出那宫殿，
That sunny dome! those caves of ice!
And all who heard should see them there,And all should cry,Beware! Beware! His flashing eyes, his floating hair!
Weave a circle round him thrice, And close your eyes with holy dread,
For he on honey-dew hath fed, And drunk the milk of Paradise.
那艳阳宫苑，那冰凌洞府！
所有聆听者都将⽬睹这奇迹，
所有⼈都将⾼呼：“当⼼！当⼼！
他闪耀的双眸，他飘逸的墨发，
围着他绕三圈，
在神圣的敬畏中闭上你的双眼，

塞缪尔·泰勒·柯勒律治(Samuel Taylor Coleridge，1772年10⽉21⽇-1834年7⽉25⽇)，英国诗⼈、⽂评家，英国浪漫主义⽂学的奠基⼈之⼀。
他以〈古⾈⼦咏〉(亦可称作〈古⾈⼦之歌〉)(The Rime of the Ancient Mariner)⼀诗名家，其⽂评集《⽂学传记》(Biographia Literaria)以博⼤精深见称，书中对想像(imagination)与幻想(fancy)的区别尤其著名。
⼀⽣作诗不缀，但中年时⾃称弃诗从哲，精研以康德、谢林为⾸的德国唯⼼论。他的"鸦⽚瘾"、他的个⼈魅⼒、他与华兹华斯的微妙关系，使他成为西⽅⽂学史上最令⼈注⽬的作家之⼀。
柯勒律治是英国浪漫主义诗⼈当中集哲学深度与浪漫诗学于⼀体的理论家，他推崇想象⼒，但更加强调想象⼒所赋予⼈类特别是诗⼈那种寻求“整⼀”和谐的能⼒。因此，他的诗歌往往集哲学深度与浪漫主义诗歌美学于⼀体，在神秘、奇异的异国情调中表达着诗⼈浓浓的⼈⽂关怀。

作品赏评：
这⾸1798年柯勒律治在梦境中创作的代表作之⼀的《忽必烈汗》（只留下残⽚54⾏，堪称诗歌园林中的“断臂维纳斯”）。诗⼈曾在⾃述中提到过这⾸诗的写作过程：“1798年夏季，健康状况不佳，在⼀农舍静养。⼀⽇略感不适，服⽤了镇痛剂（实际上是吸⾷鸦⽚以缓解严重的风湿病带给他的痛苦）后，披阅《珀切斯东⽅游记》⼀书，读到‘忽必烈汗下令在此兴建皇宫和豪华御苑，于是⼗⾥膏腴之地都被圈⼊围墙’这两句时，药性发作。熟睡约三⼩时，梦中异象纷呈，⽂思泉涌，作诗不下⼆三百⾏，醒来后，记忆甚为清晰，急取纸笔⼀⼀写下。不巧，这时有⼈因事来访，使他写作中断，约⼀⼩时后再来续写时，记忆俱已模糊，遂被迫搁笔。”
这⾸来源于梦境的诗作，⼀经发表就在英国风⾏⼀时，诗⼈浪漫神秘的笔触把西⽅⼈的眼光带到了遥远的东⽅，成为当时西⽅⼈向往东⽅⽂明的指路标牌。
