    Making and Keeping Friends
Hi there! My name is Lily and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to talk to you about something super important - friends! Having friends is one of the best things in the world, but it's not always easy to make them or keep them. I've learned a few tricks over the years that have really helped me, so I'll share them with you.
The first step is making friends to begin with. This can be scary, especially if you're shy like I used to be. But you can't have friends if you don't talk to people first! One thing that helped me a lot was just being friendly to everyone. Smile, say hi, ask how people are doing. It's a simple thing but it makes a big difference.
Another good tip is to find people who like the same things you do. That gives you something to instantly bond over. Like if you both love drawing or soccer or reading comics, you already have something cool to talk about! The kid who sits next to you in math class and doodles all over their notebook? Yeah, they might become your new best friend.
Once you've made some friends, the next challenge is keeping them. This is where being a good friend yourself becomes super important. You have to be kind, listen when they talk, keep their secrets safe, and be there for them when they need you. Treating your friends well makes them want to stay friends with you.
It's also wise to make an effort to hang out together as much as you can. Having fun times and making memories goes a long way in cementing a friendship. Sleepovers, trips to the park, going to the movies - anything you enjoy doing together counts! My bestie Sarah and I are inseparable because we spend so much time hanging out after school.
That said, you don't need to literally be together all the time to be great friends. A little space is healthy too. Don't get too clingy or demanding of your friends' time and attention.
They have other people in their lives besides you, like family. As long as you genuinely enjoy the times you do get to hang out, it's all good.
Speaking of other people, parents and teachers can sometimes get in the way of friendships without meaning to. They might discourage you from being friends with someone, or stop you from getting to spend time together. The best you can do is be patient, stay positive, and keep treating that person with kindness and respect. Hopefully the adults will see over time that it's a good friendship worth keeping.
Another challenge is when friends have disagreements or fights. This is normal and happens to everyone, even best friends. The key is to not let it get too out of hand. If you can, talk it out calmly and find a way to forgive each other. Say you're sorry for your part in it. Holding onto anger or resentment towards a friend isn't healthy.
Sometimes, though, a friendship might need to end despite your best efforts. People can grow apart over time as their interests and paths diverge. As painful as it feels, you have to accept that and give each other space to move on. The memories you made together can s
tay special, even if you're no longer besties.
Throughout all the ups and downs of friendship, the most important thing is to just be yourself. Don't change who you are or act differently just to fit in or please other people. Real friends will like you for your authentic, awesome self! They'll accept you, quirks and all.
I'm lucky to have made some amazing friends who really get me and keep me laughing all the time. Like Danny, who does hilarious impressions of our teachers. And Emma, who is just as obsessed with her pet guinea pig as I am with my dog Rufus. Friendships like these make life so much happier and more fun.
So there you have it - my tips and experiences about making and keeping friends! It does take work to maintain great relationships, but it's so worth it to have cool people in your life who've got your back. I really hope these suggestions help you surround yourself with an awesome friend group too. Here's to many joyful friend adventures ahead!

    Making and Keeping Good Friends
四级英语作文模板    Having friends is one of the best parts of being a kid! Friends make you feel happy, they're fun to play with, and you can talk to them about anything. But sometimes it's not easy to make new friends or keep the ones you have. Here are some tips that can help!
    Being a Good Friend
The first step to having good friends is being a good friend yourself. Think about the qualities you like in your best friends - chances are they are kind, loyal, honest, and fun to be around. You want to have those same qualities so others will want to be your friend too.
Being kind means treating others with respect, being polite, and thinking about their feelings. Simple things like saying please and thank you, sharing your toys, and being patient if someone is having a hard time go a long way. You definitely don't want to be mean by calling names, leaving people out, or bragging about having better things.
