Spring Festival, also known as Chinese New Year, is the most important holiday in China. We can be older or younger compared to the actual age for one year during Spring Festival.
Spring Festival is a grand festival for Chinese in which family members get together. On New Year's Eve, families also get together to have dinner. People usually eat jiaozi, a kind of Chinese dumplings, which symbolize good luck and wealth.
During Chinese New Year, Chinese people will set off firecrackers and fireworks to celebrate the new year and drive away the evil spirits. Red lanterns are also hung to decorate the streets, houses and trees; they add more joy to the festival.
