  i often wonder what friendship is. friendship is too big a topic to talk about either specifically or generally. i guemost of us are still in a puzzling state about what friendship is, and i myself should be included. maybe people who define friendship according to his own life experience will say that they have a good concept of friendship, which i think is too narrow to get an objective definition of it. but how hard it would be to talk about friendship without mixing personal feeling in it, especially when it comes to the matter of closest friend. so here i would like to share my views with you about friendship, about my closest friend.
  i have had friends since i was born, some of whom have come along with me through my life, and it is impossible to always keep your friends around you since departure is one part of life that everybody must experience. though some of you may oppose me by exaggerating the connotation of the concept of being together that is friends may not stay t
ogether physically but they can stay together always psychologically, i still hold that departure is an absolute thing. how could it be possible that your friend (even your closest friend) always keeps you in heart as he/she had, is having and will have different experiences from yours? somehow different experiences make up of different hearts. man’s heart is a quite strange thing. never think that one can wholly touch it. sometimes our heart is so abstract that you don’t even know how to get to them. if we take heart as a cube, and closest friend a gentle breeze, this breeze can only blow one facet of this cube from one direction and can rarely reach any other sides of your heart.
  i’m not sure whether i have put it very clearly but believe me that there are no fixed closest friend in your life. with different time, place, space, emotion and situation, you have different closest friends. when i play basketball, i have a closest friend who knows how to cooperate with me and together give our opponents a deadly attack; when i am alone and feel so lonely, i have a friend who can always comfort me by saying that he is my friend; when i am in need of money, the one who comes all the way and lend his money to me without any hesitation is my closest friend; when i am proud and a friend dares to stand out
to warn me that i should keep modest, he is my closest friend; and, when i read old man and the sea, i think hemingway is my best friend.
  you see then, how many closest friends i have. but i must say, though i always want to keep all of them in my heart, they are not actually always in my heart. they have their own friends and their own life. winston churchill once said that there’s no perpetual friend, nor perpetual enemy, only perpetual interest. i guehe’s right in some way.personally i think it is a shame for people who take a pet as his closest friend as this is a sheer insult to human being and an absolute indignity for the word friendship.
  if a dog is his closest friend, what is human to him? you can imagine how would a person with his animal closest friend do to people. and maybe sometimes a dog can give him mental comfort, but what a dog likes best is just a bone. friendship is indeed an inborn desire of mankind, and it is relationship between people, not between people and animals. if you seek friendship, please seek it from people, from people around you.actually i have much more to say but… your criticism welcome

  在我的家乡有一口池塘，那里一年四季景迷人。春天，池塘里的水真清啊，清得可以看见水里鱼虾的一举一动;池塘的水真净啊!净得好像一面镜子，倒映着岸边的美景，那真是一幅绝妙的图景!池塘里的水真绿啊!绿的好像一块翡翠，我仔细一看岸上还有一棵柳树呢!它的柳枝都垂下来了，这让我想起一首诗：碧玉妆成一树高，万条垂下绿丝条。突然，一阵微风吹来，水面上漾起一圈圈波纹，阳光在高空中照射下来，水面上好像撒满了金粉。波光粼粼，真的美不胜收!
  夏天，池塘里面开满了荷花，有的荷花才开出两三瓣，有的荷花全开了，有的还是花骨朵儿，它们挨挨挤挤，争奇斗艳，一朵朵的花儿，像娇羞的姑娘，涨红脸蛋儿。突然，飞来了几只蜻蜓，它们飞倦了，就落在荷花里歇息，这时让我情不自禁地想起一首诗：“小荷才露尖尖角，早有蜻蜓立上头。”多么宁静富有诗意的夏荷之景啊!秋天，池塘岸上的大树都落尽了叶子，有的落在水面上，小鱼拿来当伞，有的落在地上，蚂蚁拿来当伞，有的落在地上，蚂蚁把它小运动场……一阵风吹过，叶子随着池塘水的波光起伏着，就想一艘艘小船儿要迎风起航呢!
  冬天，早上，池塘被浓浓的雾笼罩了，真是烟雨朦胧啊!走进其中，你仿佛有种置身于仙境的感觉。到了中午，太阳露出了笑脸，浓雾散去，池塘的美景又可见了。冬天，水面显得更加平静了，似乎在为下一个春天储蓄能量呢!我爱我的家乡，更爱家乡的池塘。如此美丽的池塘美景，我又怎么能不赞美它呢?

  Have you ever watched the famous cartoon"Happy sheep and gray wolf",which captures the hearts of millions of kids and even teenagers.
  I'm sure you can't forget the vivid character---Red Wolf,which is a snippy,violent and hot-tempered wife with her symbolic action:throw a pan to her husband and shout out " go and catch the sheep! or never come back".In fact,this is a truly reflection that female are gradually dominating the society.Girls are the bosses.
  According to a report by CNN in 20xx,women in the US earned 59 percent of all college degrees,surpassing men by almost 3 to 2.while in 1970,41 years ago,men earned that perc
entage of all college degrees.Similarly, in China,it's estimated that female college students surpassed male students in numbers on campus for the first time in history in 20xx,which accounts for 51%.Although we,the students in WHUT,can't feel it,because the majority here are males.But think about the fact that,the female ratio of freshmen in Huazhong Normal University this year is 70%.So next time,when you're free,why not go to Huazhong Normal University,just walk around the campus,and you will enjoy a different scenery.
  Back to our topic, Gu haibing,professor in the School of Econmics at Renmin University of China,attributes this to the education system.He says girls gain the edge with their better discipline and memory-based studying method "However , a gender imbalance on campus caused by female students outperforming their male counterparts reflects a global trend.
  The 20xx Olympics have been hailed as the "Year of the women",according to Time magazine,because 58 of the US team 103 medals were won by women and for the first time Muslim women from Saudi-Arabia,Qatar and Brunei ere allowed to compete in the event.
  Furthermore,as we have known, Madame Curie is one of the greatest scientists around the world,and she is a woman;"Iron lady "Margaret thatcher is the one of the most prominent politician,and she is a woman; Oprah Winfrey is the household hostess of talk show,and she is a woman. And examples like this can be taken endlessly as you want.
