A Visit to My Aunt
After the college Entrance Examination , I received a letter from my aunt and uncle in the countryside , who invited me to stay with them for a couple of weeks . They had just set up a new big house . The news brought me an exciting night.
The next morning I reached their home and I was kindly received by them . They had prepared a very nice and airy room for me . Just coming inside , on a small tidy table I found a vase of roses—my favorite flower . Standing by the window , my eyes were instantly caught by the beautiful scenery outside the window .
Every morning we took a walk in the neighboring hills , where we could enjoy the fresh air and sweet songs of the birds in the woods . We gathered wild flowers here and there . I found it great fun . In the afternoon I mostly spent my time reading or writing for I was shut in the house by the terrible heat outsi
de . The evening was the only time we could go swimming together . I improved my swimming during those two weeks .
Though the two weeks passed quickly , the memory of the short interesting visit will last forever .

My Favorite Holiday
Most people like holiday . In holidays , you can get a good rest at home , have a nice time indoors or outdoors and meet your friends or stay with your family . Among the many different holidays , some people like traditional Chinese ones such as the Lateran Festival , Mid Autumn
Christmas Day , Thanksgiving , Halloween , April Fool’s Day , and so on .
As for me , my favorite holiday is the Spring Festival , or the Chinese New Year . On the eve of the Spring Festival , the whole family gather around the dinner table to enjoy food and talk with each other . After dinner , the elder give the children money , with which they can buy whatever they want . During the Spring Festival , people visit their relatives and wish each other “Happy New Year” . Throughout the festival , everyone is much friendlier and kinder than at any other time of the year , and you can feel the world is filled with love . And since there is no school , children and young people play together , or they stay at home with their parents .
There is always a peaceful and happy atmosphere everywhere in the Chinese New Year . I like the traditional festival a lot , especially the Spring Festival of China .

至于我，我最喜欢的节日是春节，或是中国的新年。春节前夕，全家人围坐在餐桌上，享受美食，互相交谈。吃完饭后，老人给孩子们钱，他们可以买任何他们想要的东西。春节期间，人们拜访亲戚，祝愿对方“新年快乐”。节日期间，每个人都比一年中的任何时候更友好的多好，你能感觉到世界是充满爱的。而且因为没有学校，孩子和年轻人一起玩耍，或者他们呆在家里和父母在一起。
